Our Belief

What Drives Everything We Do

01
Self Worth First

We are setting young people up to fail if we don't teach them self worth first. Workforce development starts there. Everything else is built on top of it.

02
Community Is Safety

Spaces where people belong, are seen, and can show up as themselves — fully and without apology.

03
Success Looks Like Fulfillment

Not just a job. A life worth living. Fruitful, connected, and built by them for themselves and their communities.

The WAE Program

8 Weeks.
3 Phases.
One Step Forward.

The WAE is our flagship program. An 8-week journey for LGBTQ+ young adults ages 18 to 24. We do not start with resumes. We start with the person.

Who We Are

The JLORE
Impact Project

A growing community impact initiative built on equity, dignity, and an unshakeable belief in the people we serve.

The JLORE Impact Project
Our Mission

Closing the Gap Between
Potential and Access

The JLORE Impact Project exists to close the gap between potential and access. Creating spaces where young people who have been overlooked and underserved can stabilize then grow. Built on equity, dignity, and an unshakeable belief in the communities we serve, JIP is a growing ecosystem of initiatives, programs, and projects — always grounded in our core values, always responsive to what our community needs next.

Jamila Williams
Founder's Note

Jamila 'Jlore'
Williams

I built The JLORE Impact Project because I have seen what happens when young people get real access, real safety, and real support. They change. They grow. They start to believe they can build lives that are more fulfilling.

I did not start JIP to talk about impact. I started it to create it. I believe this is the way.

That is the standard I hold myself to and it is the standard every program under The JLORE Impact Project will be held to.

We Are Enough. All of us. Always.

Core Values

What We Stand On

Belief

Every person we serve is already enough. That belief is non-negotiable.

Self Worth

Before skills, careers, or futures — we build self worth. Once that is in place everything else follows.

Access and Equity

Access means exposure, opportunity, and a fair shot to grow. We remove barriers and create real pathways.

Community

Community is safety. We build spaces where people belong, are seen, and can show up fully.

Reimagination

We do not follow the existing playbook. We build programs that communities are actually seeking.

Strategy

Good intentions are not enough. The people we serve deserve a plan that actually works.

Theory of Change

How Change Actually Happens

When young people get the space to stabilize, lead, and redefine — they carry that strength back into their communities.

Stage 01
Stabilize

Safety, belonging, emotional grounding, and holistic wellness. People need to feel safe enough to show up.

Stage 02
Lead

Skill-building, identity exploration, economic development, finding their voice. This is where growth gets real.

Stage 03
Redefine

Young people define success on their own terms. They graduate into lives they are proud of and have the tools to sustain.

The WAE · We Are Enough

A New Type of
Workforce Development

For LGBTQ+ young adults ages 18 to 24 in New York City. Built for those who have been overlooked, underestimated, and underserved.

The Program

What Makes The WAE Different

The WAE provides vulnerable LGBTQ+ young adults with more than just job placement. Before we build careers we build self worth. Before we teach skills we create safety. We start with the person — when they finally believe they are enough everything else follows.

"We are setting young people up to fail if we don't teach them self worth first. Workforce development starts there. Everything else is built on top of it."

The Three Phases

The Journey

Phase 01
A New Day
Weeks 1 and 2

Participants arrive. They find safety. They find community. Emotional grounding. Identity. Real connection. This is the foundation everything else is built on.

Phase 02
I'll Learn Me First
Weeks 3 through 6

While participants learn the workforce they also learn themselves. Life skills. Financial literacy. The benefit cliff. Career exploration. Resume building. Professionalism. Workplace rights. Tenant rights. Accountability. Balance.

Phase 03
Now I'll Tell You
Weeks 7 and 8

Participants know a bit more about who they are. They know what they bring. They show up with confidence. Now they tell YOU. Personal branding. Interview preparation. Future self visioning. Final presentations. Graduation.

What Participants Gain
